PICK-PLACE focuses on flexible, safe and dependable robotic part-handling in industrial environments. The project proposes a combination of human and robot capabilities in order to achieve this efficient hybrid pick-and-place / pick-and-package solution. It includes dynamic package configuration, flexible grasping strategies using an innovative multifunctional gripper, robust environment perception and mechanisms and strategies for human-robot collaboration.
TOFAŞ was established in 1968 and started production in 1971 by the late Vehbi Koç, founder of the Koç Group, and jointly owned by Koç Holding and FIAT Chrysler Automobiles. It is today one of FCA three globally strategic production hubs on over one million square meter plant. With its more than 10.000 employees, it currently has a production capacity of over 400.000 vehicles.

Last week, members of the PICK-PLACE consortium moved to TOFAS’ (Tofas Turk Otomobil Fabrikasi Anonim Sirketi) headquarters in Bursa, Turkey, for a plenary meeting and a comprehensive visit to the most promising scenarios for the project. Read more
